TOP OF THE WORLD ATV MEETING MINUTES AUG.12TH, 2008
There were 22 members and one non member present. The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm. The Secretary’s report was read, motion made by Rocky and seconded by Chad to accept the minutes. The Treasurer’s report was read, Chad made the motion; seconded by Rocky to accept until audited. The trail administrator’s report was read, Bob mentioned that he will have a work day of August 23rd to work on Car Brook for the Kiosk. Bob and Lincoln took care of a trail by Horn of the Moon that needed emergency repair. Bob also let us know that the trails will be numbered soon. Lincoln gave the VASA update. He mentioned that VASA did not like our pictures that we had on the website with members appearing with no helmets on. He will be talking with the board of directors about not being a necessity in parades. Maybe another Mt. Washington ride will be available soon if we can pull together 30 plus members who want to do this. If any tickets for this are not used they can be used by the end of 2008. Next year tickets will be for sale at Mt. Washington the day of the ride. VASA is having a poster contest for next years poster. Lincoln also talked about VORA for dirt bikes, wheelers and jeeps for off road. Everyone wanting to be a member will be entitled to vote. VASA is still working with VALCO on opening the power lines. The North Concord trail will not be opened this year due to circumstances beyond our control.
Old Business-
- Kiosks-we can keep them at 4’x 8’ if want. It was decided to leave them at 3’x 4’.
- ATV Raffle- we’re at about $5000. Sharon made the motion to pick up the wheeler and pay for it for the rodeo. It was seconded by Peter.
- Rodeo- advertising has been on the radio 105.5 and in the newspaper. Thanks to Stephanie Sterling for the help with the radio station. We will have a mud bog, gift certificates, posters, bounce house, dunk tank. John has a PA system if needed. Sharon needs people to sit at the no peek poker run stops. Mike and Walt will be loopers for the poker run. Marge will be at the Fire Station. Debbie will get us 2 bails of hay for the stream. Aleta has a copy of a release form, Debbie and Norma will get that from her to use that day. In the cook shack there are coolers available. Bob and Lincoln will check the beaver dam area tomorrow night.
- Other- Debbie thanked all who were in the Old Home Day Parade. People commented on how we are such a great group.
Meeting Minutes Continued
New Business-
- Next meeting will be Wednesday, September 10th at the Town Hall due to the primaries.
- Advertising for the rodeo was $300 and the T-shirts were also $300.
- Karl asked if anyone was interested in being the National Race Horse Coordinator in Town. Also he let us know he is now the Emergency contact for the town of Concord.
- Ashley read a letter from the athletic director of Concord School asking for a monetary donation for a new shatter proof back board in the gym for $450. Rocky made the motion that with give them the money they need, it was seconded by Mike.
- Lincoln talked about Met Life they will be at our rodeo and check into their insurance.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:32pm. The motion was made by Mike and seconded by Kevin. Next meeting will be Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at the Town Hall.
