Top of the World ATV Club Meeting Minutes
August 11th, 2009
There were 26 members and 1 non-member present. The Secretary’s report was read and accepted. Motion made by Don Kelsey and seconded by Dave Timson; motion carried. The Treasurer’s report was read, motion made by Don Kelsey and seconded by Mark Beliveau to accept pending the auditor’s report.
Trail report was given by Bob Tucker that there isn’t too much to say. The work behind the Post Office has been done with the exceptions of maybe putting in some more culverts. Mark Beliveau mentioned that the trail needs more grading, maybe even some more gravel, maybe it could be lined with fabric to reduce the run off of the gravel. Mike Audet said that Ferguson’s in Lebanon has the fabric if we want to get any. It was also mentioned to check with Jeff Rook maybe he could check into it for us.
Lincoln Paquette put in a request for help weed whacking down at the Old Foundry around the Kiosk before the rodeo. NCAA club will be coming up on August 22nd for a ride they will be meeting at the Foundry at 9am.
Lincoln Paquette gave the VASA report On Sept. 26th they will be sponsoring an ATV pull, tractor pull event, and they will be involved if anyone is interested in helping please email the VASA office.
If anyone has any pictures of themselves on the internet with out proper head gear, etc on wheelers please remove the pictures. Like if you are on you tube or face book, etc.
A few insurance agents were at the Board of Directors meeting reminding everyone about when on a road; if the town ordinance states you must have insurance to ride the roads make sure you do. If when out on a wheeler and you don’t mind wearing a helmet please wear them.
Lincoln Paquette also let us know that there will be more hearings on the state land issue.
Meeting Minutes Continued
Old Business:
- Lincoln Paquette mentioned the change of address again.
- Old Home Day Parade in Lunenburg we only had 6 machines there.
- Mt. Washington Ride, there were 130 machines there; about 30 of them were from our club.
- Rodeo- Lincoln Paquette let us know he has collected $255. To go toward advertizing, the radio expenditure is $170. For the ads. The entrance fee is $5 donation per person, to camp there it will be $5 per camper. The fry a later was borrowed from the Lunenburg Volunteer Fire Department. The ATV pull sled is in our driveway; Kenny Gammell will be coming up to check it out. Peter Blouin will be helping run the pull sled at the rodeo. There are tractors lined up for the rodeo for the mud bog and pull sled.
- Mark Beliveau mentioned the Secretary should put the first and last names of all people that made motions in the minutes and newsletters.
- We still have plenty of 50/50 raffle tickets.
- We still need help in any way at the rodeo. Some people who volunteered were Chad Sterling and Mike Audet.
- Ashley Miles will be singing and our MC for the events.
- Parking for the vehicles will be in the field across from the cook shack. Campers will be on the left up by the pond.
- Poker run will run from 9am to 12pm on Saturday. There will be signs posted.
- Lincoln Paquette has arranged for the officers to have a camper there from River Bend RV.
- Don Kelsey mentioned that in the April meeting minutes about official opening and closing dates, the word official should be removed.
- Update on Calvin Noble he had to go in for a 12 hour surgery, the doctors have had to split up the time for the surgery do to swelling and filling up of fluid.
- Mark Beliveau mentioned that there is some equipment available for around $600 each.
- Lincoln Paquette asked if anyone present could think of someone they could get any donations before the weekend for the rodeo.
New Business:
- Flags in and around town, the administrative assistant for the town of Concord was asking us if we could put them up and take them down from the poles every year for the town. The members present voted not to do this for safety sake.
- Dave Timson reported that a person living on Kirby Mountain Road has complained that there are some machines racing up and down the road at all hours of the night. Lincoln Paquette let Dave Timson know that they need to let the State Police warned.
With no further business, motion made by Mark Beliveau and seconded by Don Kelsey to adjourn the meeting; meeting adjourned at 8:10pm. Next meeting will be Sept 9th at the Concord Town Hall.
