Mt Washington Ride

TOP OF THE WORLD ATV MEETING MINUTES JULY 8TH, 2008

There were 22 members present. The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm. The  Secretary’s report was read, motion made by Bill and seconded by Rocky to accept the minutes. The treasurer’s report was read, Norma made the motion; seconded by Sharon to accept until audited. The trail administrator’s report was read by Bob. He reported that so far three trails are done, but we need more people to help. If anyone can help at all, even a little, let Bob know. Trail numbers have been assigned and will be put on trails. There is a lot of maintenance to be done. Mike said he would work on the trail by Miles Pond.
           Fundraiser committee (Norma) reported that we have chocolate bars to sell, she has them with her, and there are 52 bars in a case and their $1.00 each. She will check and see if the company has sugar-free ones also. So far there is one date set to sell raffle tickets for the ATV. VASA update Lincoln reported that we can now number our trails. We will be going with 3” numbers for the signs for easier reading. We will be checking prices. Also, it was decided to go with the color black for the numbers.

 Old Business:

  • Kiosks- it was decided to downsize them to 3’ x 4’, Mike made the motion and Rocky seconded it.
  • Rodeo Committee- It was decided to sell hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soda, and water at the rodeo. Motion made by Alice and seconded by Norma. Mike made a motion to have an admission charge of $2.00 at the entrance of the rodeo. Police coverage was discussed. Further discussion on rodeo charges was poker run $5.00, mud bog $10.00 for 3 runs, charge for all activities & food accept kid’s events, and no admission fee. Previous motion withdrawn by Mike. The motion was made by Kevin and seconded by David. The rental of the excavator is $125.00 for non-profit organizations. There is a possibility of having a silent auction, and 50/50 raffle. We will have a poker run in the morning and mud bog all day. The staff will not have to pay for their food for a meal. Motion made by Norma and seconded by Rocky for the staff food. Bill made the motion to have Karl make all the decisions about the mud bog, it was seconded by Tim. The motion was made by Tim to have the mud bog from 10am to 4pm, it was seconded by Rocky.
  • ATV Raffle- we need to sell tickets now.
  • Bob went over numbering the trails and trail work that needs to get done.
  • Mt. Washington tickets- Lincoln needs the money tonight. Monday will be his last trip to Montpelier to get tickets.

 

Meeting Minutes Continued

New Business:

  • Advertising places are Colebrook Cronical, White Mountain Shopper, Amminusic Times, Littleton Currrier, Democrat, Caledonian-Record (Poulos INS). Lincoln let us know that 105.5 radio station is giving us buy 2 get one free deal on ads. We will run the ads 3 times a day until the rodeo.
  • Karl let us know that he met with the Select Board and they gave the club the old photo copier from the Town Hall, since we are a non-profit organization. Karl said the next ride in is Saturday, July 12th starting at Miles Pond.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:22pm. The motion was made by Dave and seconded by Kevin. Next meeting will be Aug. 12th at the Town Hall.
